Bicester Motion Opens Its Doors Again

Big news for car fans in our area. Bicester Motion announced it will open its doors to visitors on Sunday 26 April for its Spring Scramble. The site has been operating on a phased basis following last year's tragic fire, so this is a welcome step forward for the Bicester Motion community. The Scramble will honour 100 years of the former RAF Bicester Technical Site, which was first built in 1926. A great day out for families and car lovers alike.

Your Vote Matters This May

Cherwell District Council is reminding all residents that the local elections take place on Thursday 7 May 2026. Sixteen seats on Cherwell District Council are up for election, including four Bicester seats. The deadline to register to vote was Monday 20 April, and the deadline for new postal vote applications is today, Tuesday 21 April at 5pm. If you are already registered, make sure you know where your polling station is.

Community Buzz

Bicester Town Council has a packed events calendar for the months ahead, with free family events, music in the park, and community quizzes. The Garth Gazette, the Town Council's free community newsletter, is a great place to stay up to date with parks, play areas, and local grants. Keep an eye on the Bicester Town Council Facebook page for the latest announcements.

Business Beat

Bear Street Bakery, the cult Swiss cookie and drinks brand from Zurich, opened its first UK site at Bicester Village in March. The kiosk at 113 Goodwood Road serves handmade cookies in flavours like Pistachio White Chocolate and Raspberry, and Brown Butter Miso Salted Caramel, alongside specialty coffee and hot chocolate. If you have not popped in yet, it is well worth a visit.

Council Corner

The Cherwell District Council local elections on 7 May are the big focus right now. Sixteen of 48 council seats are up for vote, and your choice will shape decisions about housing, planning, and local services across Bicester and the wider district. Postal vote deadline is today at 5pm if you still need to arrange that.

Around the Region

Oxfordshire County Council libraries are running free sessions across April and May, including Lego Club, Storytime, and Language Cafes at Bicester Library every week. These are free and open to all, so a great low-cost option for families during the school holiday period.
