Remembrance Sunday Brings Community Together
This Sunday, November 9th, Bicester residents will gather to honour and remember all those who have served in the armed forces. The Remembrance Service and parade will give us a chance to pay our respects and come together as a community during this important occasion. Whether you’re participating in the parade or attending the service, it’s a meaningful way to show gratitude to our veterans.
Bicester Businesses Rally Behind London Road Crossing Solution
Over 100 local businesses have signed a letter calling for an underpass rather than a footbridge at the London Road level crossing. With the East West Rail line coming through, the crossing will permanently close, but the community is pushing hard for a solution that keeps vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians connected. MP Calum Miller has been leading the charge, and a Government decision is expected to come very soon. Many business owners worry that a footbridge-only option would cut them off from customers and hurt the local economy.
Designer Charity Shop Pop-Up at Bicester Village
Fashion fans and bargain hunters have until November 20th to check out The Village Attic at Bicester Village. This pop-up charity shop, curated by stylist Bay Garnett, features vintage designer clothes, shoes, and accessories. The best part? 100% of the proceeds go to Smart Works, a charity that helps women get into employment through clothing, coaching, and confidence. It’s thrift chic with a purpose.marieclaire+1

Community Buzz
Bicester’s community groups are buzzing with activity. Bicester Vision continues supporting local businesses through training and networking events, helping our town grow as a place to work, live, and build a business. Whether it’s through community gardens, business support, or local initiatives, neighbours are coming together to make our town stronger.
Council Corner
Cherwell District Council’s big focus right now is the Bicester Market Square regeneration project. With a £5.1 million investment approved, the next stage of technical studies and detailed design work is underway this autumn, with construction expected to begin in summer 2026. The goal is to create a more vibrant, accessible town centre that reflects what residents and businesses need.
Around the Region
The East West Rail project will bring new connections to Bicester and the wider region, linking communities from Oxford to Cambridge, Milton Keynes, and Bedford. This will mean better transport options and new employment opportunities for our area.

Whether you’re looking for a job, celebrating Diwali, shopping for a good cause, or just enjoying time with neighbors at our festive events, there’s something for everyone.
